Helen Dorothy Frerichs, age 87, passed away at her home on the family ranch in D'Hanis, Texas on May 24, 2008. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on January 9, 1921. Helen served in the United States Navy during WWII, stationed in San Diego, California. Most of her adult life was spent in Phoenix, Arizona where she attended Arizona State University and later worked for the Arizona Highway Magazine until she retired. One of her fondest memories was when Helen and her husband, John, ran a boy's summer camp on their ranch near Flagstaff. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Edna White, her sister, Alta Slaton, her brothers, Theodore and Earl White, her son, Robert Paul Frerichs, and her great granddaughter, Hazel Camille Anderson. She is survived by her husband, John W. Frerichs, son John M. Frerichs, son William T. Frerichs and wife Judi, three grandchildren Reed Frerichs, wife Desiree and great granddaughter Cate; Holly Messer, husband Jimmy and great grandchildren Marley and Rhett; Heather Frerichs, husband Bryan Anderson and great granddaughter Hana. A private family memorial service will be held in Flagstaff, Arizona at a later date.
