Henry Earl Edgar Balzen, of Quihi, passed away on December 20, 2019 at the age of 81 years. He was born October 13, 1938 in Hondo, Texas to Earl Emil Balzen and Irene Katherine Boehme Balzen.

Henry graduated from Hondo High School in 1957 and The University of Texas at Austin in 1961. He worked as an aeronautical design engineer for thirty-two years, retiring in 1994. Henry was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi Gun Club and AARP.

On June 9, 1961, Henry married Betty Arleen Nelson at the Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Arleen Balzen; daughters, Pam (Randy) Buster, Vicki Lynn (Roy) Lewis and Sherri (Lee) Sechrist; six grandchildren, Courtni (Kent) Little, Garrett (Jessica) Sechrist, Jamie (Tremaine) McKinley, Stephanie (Jordan) Ross, Zachary Earl Balzen and Rhody Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Colby Little, Kade Henry Little, Anna Lea Sechrist, and his brother, Gary (Sharon) Balzen.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Irene Balzen and granddaughter, Rhandee Lewis.

Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2019 starting at 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Quihi, Texas. Interment will follow at Quihi Cemetery in Quihi, Texas.

Memorials may be made in Henry's memory to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Quihi, Texas.
