Henry Gonzales, age 68, of D'Hanis passed away Wednesday, Mar. 4, 2015. Born Dec. 19, 1946, in D'Hanis, he was the son of Abran and Paula Flores Gonzales. A 1967 D'Hanis High School graduate, he served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a former driver for D'Hanis Test Track, as well as a proud server for his county and community as a constable for Precinct 3. A friend to many, he also enjoyed serving the community as a local umpire for both softball and baseball, as well as umpire for All-Star games. Henry was a proud supporter of his many nieces and nephews in their sports and academics efforts, as well as a supporter of the D'Hanis Cowboys and Cowgirls. Continuing his support to the community, he was a driver for AACOG, helping locals in need of service. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Anacasio, Thomas and Santos Gonzales. Henry is survived by sisters, Susie (Pete Sr.) Martinez of D'Hanis and Antonio Perez of Phoenix AZ; brothers, Innocente (Isabel) Gonzales of D'Hanis and Epifanio Gonzales of Phoenix; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, Mar. 7, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by recitation of the Rosary at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Cortez Cemetery, D'Hanis.
