Herminia "Minnie" Ybarra Contreras, age 66, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Born in Hondo on Nov. 25, 1946, she was the daughter of Eluterio and Julia (Guajardo) Ybarra, who preceded her in death. Minnie dedicated her life to caring for her family and others. Survivors include her husband, Epifanio Contreras; daughters, Sylvia Tovar of Hondo and Maria Contreras of San Antonio; sons, Mark Tovar of Hondo and Mike Tovar of Devine; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, May Barrientes and husband Juan of Hondo and Lupe Santos and husband Henry of D'Hanis. Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 20, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
