Hope Cuellar Puckett of Hondo passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024.  She was 75.

Born Aug. 22, 1949, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Celestino R. and Adelina Hernandez Cuellar.

Hope grew up helping in her parents' Sunset Grocery store at Avenue U and 14th Street. She graduated Hondo High School Class of 1968, and attended college. She married Michael David Puckett on September 5, 1974, and they settled down in Hondo in 1980 to start a family.  She was a homemaker, dedicated wife and the cornerstone for the family.  Following the death of her husband Michael in 1996, she continued to take care of her family up until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include her sons, Jason Christopher Puckett and John Paul Puckett; her brother, David F. Cuellar; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at First Baptist Church, 2400 Ave. P, Hondo, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
