Hortencia Dominguez Villa of Hondo, 88, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018. Born in Hondo, Jan. 21, 1930, she was the daughter of Francisco and Salome Hernandez Dominguez. A hard-working woman, Hortencia was loving, caring and faithful to the end. In addition to being a homemaker, over the years Hortencia managed The Chicken Coop and Rancher's Barbecue. She also worked many years at local nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Oscar Dominguez and Raul Dominguez; and sisters, Elisa Arcos, Oralia Arcos, Edilia Rodriguez, her twin, and Mary Ester Gonzalez. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Gregorio C. Villa; daughters, Cynthia (David) Barrios, Lisa Brieden and Lucine Lemus (Manny Guevara); and son, Al "Gegi" (Norma) Villa, all of Hondo; 15 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be Thursday (today), 6 to 8 p.m., at Life Changing Worship Center, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m., at the Life Changing Worship Center, 253 CR 432, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
