Ida Meda Balzen Saathoff, age 92, of Hondo, passed away on Jan. 28, 2012 in Castroville. She was born on March 11, 1919 in Castroville to the late George H. and Lena Weiblen Balzen. She was a member of Quihi Bethlehem Lutheran Church and WELCA. Ida is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Emil Saathoff; son-in-law, Russell Jungman and brother Milton Balzen. Survivors include her daughter, Doris Elaine Saathoff Jungman of Hondo; grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher Allen and Cynthia Kaye Jungman of Caldwell, Duane Joseph Jungman of Hondo, and Martha Sue Jungman Otake and Glenn Otake of San Antonio; great grandchildren: Phillip, Kyle and Ty Jungman, and Justin Otake; step great grandson, Steven Otake; sister-in-law, Nora Balzen of Hondo; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.
