Imogene Elizabeth (Bendele) Bohmfalk, age 87, of Hondo passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born Mar. 15, 1924, in rural Hondo, daughter of Thomas Jacob and Hilda Catherine (Reus) Bendele. After 27 years, she retired as administrator of Brown's Nursing Home and Community Care Center. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rolf Emil Bohmfalk; sister, Modine Meyer; and brothers, Erwin T. Bendele, Aaron Philip Bendele and Martin Andrew Bendele. Survivors are her children, Beverly Lutz and husband David of D'Hanis and Ronald Bohmfalk and wife Wanda of Hondo-Castroville; grandchildren, Barbara Smith, Donna Dittmar, Rhonda Gear, Ronald Bohmfalk Jr., Dwayne Lutz, Robert Bohmfalk and Renae Herrmann; and 20 great-grandchildren. Rosary was recited Tuesday, May 17, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.
