Inez Heinen Short of Schertz formerly of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at the age of 93. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, March 8, 1913, the daughter of Elmer B. & Anna May (Newcomer) Heinen. She was the former owner / operater of Inez's Beauty Shop in Hondo. She is preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild; brothers Royce B. Heinen, Myron James Heinen. Inez is survived by her son, John Henry Short and wife Lisa of Crossville; daughters, Sue Ann Jacoby and husband Allen of Bandera, Thelma Evelyn "Tess" Stiner and husband Loren of San Antonio; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sisters Hazel Dawson of San Antonio, twin sister Nina Howard of Portland. The Visitation will be from 05:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m. at the the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home on Friday December 1 and the Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 2, 1:30 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section in Hondo. In Inez's memory, donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society.
