Isabel Oralia (Dominguez) Arcos, age 84, of Hondo passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009. She was born in Hondo on Mar. 30, 1925, the daughter of Francisco F. and Salome (Hernandez) Dominguez. Widowed at a young age, she earned her GED, became a beautician and opened her own shop. An active member of St. John's Catholic Church, she was a member of the Guadalupanas, Bereavement Committee, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Oralia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vicente S. Arcos Jr. in 1948; sister, Elisa Arcos; aunt, Lucinda Hernandez; and brother-in-law, Reymundo Rodriguez. She is survived by her daughter, Dolores "Dolly" Caldwell and husband Curtis of San Antonio; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Campos and Julie Ann of San Antonio and Vince Campos and wife Tara of Soldtona, AK; great-grandchildren, Hannah Campos, Erik, Heidi, and Lise; brothers, Raul Dominguez and wife Sophia and Oscar Dominguez and wife Sylvia; sisters, Hortencia Villa and husband Gregorio, Edelia Rodriguez, alll of Hondo, and Mary Esther Gonzales and husband Ignacio of Devine. Rosary was led by Epifania Ybarra on Monday and Funeral Mass was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Dakin officiating. Pallbearers were Spencer A. Dominguez, Oscar Arcos, Oscar Dominguez, Randy Gonzales, Xavier Gonzales, Paul Gonzales and Richard W. Arcos. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
