James E. "Butch" Gooding, age 67, of Hondo passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. Born Aug. 16, 1944, in Hondo, he was the son of Glenn B. and Elleen Pearl (Mumme) Gooding. He was a diesel mechanic and a farmer. He is preceded in death by his father; brother, George Irvin Gooding; and son, Jacob Ryan "JR" Gooding. He is survived by his mother; son, Robert Gooding and wife Carolin of Washington state; grandchildren, Desiree and Robert E. Jr.; niece, Angie Dolgner; and nephew, John Gooding. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 22, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by interment in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
