James Campbell "Jimmy" Gray of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at the age of 89. He was born in Uvalde, Texas, May 10, 1917, the son of James Edward & Clara B. (Uzzell) Gray. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Margaret (Nicholson) Gray; son, James Randall "Randy" Gray; daughter, Frances Painter; brother, Norman Kent Gray; brother-in-law, Albert Alexander Haegelin. Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Pam Martin of Ft. Worth; grand-daughters, Dawn (Mougel) Garcia of San Antonio, Randi (Mougel) Garcia of San Antonio, Cheryl Low of Ft. Worth; great-grandchildren, Sterling Gray Biggerstaff of Ft. Worth, Lindsay Michele Garcia of San Antonio, Matthew William Garcia of San Antonio, Mikayla Jacqueline Garcia of San Antonio, Nicholas Jeffery Garcia of San Antonio; daughter-in-law Sarah Gray of Hondo; brother, Bruce Gray and wife Estelle of Castroville; sister, Gwen Haegelin of Bandera; sister-in-law, Amy Melton Gray; cousin, Tom Uzzell of San Antonio. The Visitation was from 5:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m. at the the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home on Sunday January 7, and the Funeral Service was Monday, January 8, 2:00 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The casketcarriers were William "Gizmo" Freeman, Jeff A. Mougel, Al Haegelin, Homer Stevens, Frankie Garcia, III, Mike Garcia. Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
