James Day "JD" Huesser, age 89, of D'Hanis passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009. He was born July 19, 1920, in Hondo, the son of Eugene and Elenora "Ella" (Nester) Huesser. JD was a lifelong farmer/rancher just west o f D'Hanis. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a member of D'Hanis Lions Club for 20 years, of D'Hanis Hermann Sons Lodge for 60 years, of Medina County Farm Bureau; and was a past director of the Medina County Soil and Water Conservation District. JD was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Howard, Lloyd E., and Wesley Huesser; and sister, Mildred Ussery. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Annie (Schmidli) Huesser; sister Mary Kate Curry of Lubbock; son, Larry E. Huesser and wife Carolyn of D'Hanis; daughter, Judith Ann Moffett and husband Bill of D'Hanis; four grandchildren, Denny Huesser and wife Kara of Buda, Shanna Moffett Arnett and husband Joseph of D'Hanis, Deena Huesser Wolff and husband Brad of round rock, Scott Moffett and wife Krystal of D'Hanis; and eight great-grandchildren, Garrett Arnett, Logan Arnett, Hayley Huesser, Brady Wolff, Kenneth Arnett, Hayden Huesser, Reece Wolff and Abby Arnettt. Funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis, with Fr. Wallis J. Stiles officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m., with the funeral mass following at 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be Denny Huesser, Scott Moffett, Joseph Arnett, Brad Wolff, tim Huesser and Rick Rohrbach. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis following mass. The family suggests memorials may be made to D'Hanis Lions Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 204, D'Hanis, TX 78850.
