James Lawrence Jackson, age 53, of LaPryor lost his life to cancer Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, in Hondo. Born June 5, 1961, in Uvalde, he was the son of Joseph Mark Jackson and Jesse Joyce Cook Jackson, both of whom precede him in death. Members of the Frank Helvey family, his employers, said James was respected by his friends and coworkers and had worked for Pearsall Livestock for almost 20 years. He is survived by his sister, Joy Jackson (Eulalio) Garza of Knippa; niece, Heather Bryant of Garland; nephew, Alejos Eulalio Garza of Prosper; great-niece, Addison Bryant; and great-nephews, Andrew Bryant and Alejos Garza Jr.; and several cousins, including Joyce Evans of Uvalde. A graveside service was held at 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19, at Sabinal Cemetery.
