James Louis Jungman of Hondo passed away   Tuesday, July 8, 2020. He was 78.

Born Oct. 2, 1941, in Castroville, he was the son of Wilfred Joseph and Laura Evelyn Tschirhart Jungman.

James was retired as a research and development mechanic with Southwest Research Institute.

He was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. He enjoyed many outdoor hobbies, including his favorite – hunting with family and all his buddies on the lease.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June Purvis Jungman; brother, Justin Jungman; and sister, Lorraine Whitwell.

Survivors include his sons, Randall James Jungman (Sharon) of Hondo and Ronald Ray Jungman (Angel) of Rockport; grandchildren, Samantha Rodriguez (Jason), Cody Jungman (Jenna), Emma Jungman and Phillip Jungman; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Elizabeth and Charlotte Rodriguez; brother, Norman Jungman (Marie) of Castroville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony will be held creekside in his memory on Saturday, July 18, 6 p.m.
