Janie Acker Schuh of Yancey passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2020. She was 70.
Born in San Antonio, July 20, 1949, she was the daughter of Roland Henry Acker and Meta Marie Bertha Schulmeier.
Janie grew up on Pinn Road, until her family moved to Cherokee Village, and graduated from MacArthur High School. Shortly after graduation, she fell in love and married her high school sweetheart. They were married 52 years.
Janie was a bookkeeper, teacher, homemaker, and a loving wife and mother. She had a gift for touching others with her smile and laugh.
Many family members cherish the crocheted gifts she made for them. Above all, she cherished God, her family, and her puppies, Bonnie and Ruger. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Irene Scholz.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Schuh; sons, Martin L. Schuh (Laurie) of Rio Medina and Jacob H. Schuh (Kristina) of Yancey; grandchildren, Nash Schuh and Eva Schuh; brother, Stanley Acker of San Antonio, Sister, Pauline Lamza (Albin) of Shiner; sister-in-law, Shirley Greff of San Antonio; brothers-in-law, Chester Schuh (Iris) of Hondo and David Schuh (Kim) of Lawton OK.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Wounded Warriors, or the SPCA.
