Jenaro
Guerra
February 10, 1958 – June 20, 2020
Jenaro Guerra, Sr., of Sabinal and D'Hanis passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020. He was 62.
Born Feb. 10, 1958, in Hondo, he was the son of Octaviano and Elvira Martinez Guerra.
A truck driver for over 40 years, Jenaro, who was known as "Nobody", enjoyed the open road and seeing God's beauty all over the country. He had an infectious laugh and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing and fixing the impossible. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Having fought a five-year battle with cancer, he was courageous to the end and, in the end, he did it "his way."
He is preceded in death by his mother and infant son, Jenaro Guerra, Jr.
He is survived by his father, Octaviano Guerra of Bishop; his wife of 43 years, Beverly Ann Reyes Guerra; daughters, Shannon Guerra Muñiz (Johnny) and Faith Abby Guerra Mejia (Ernest), all of D'Hanis; sons, Henry Blake Guerra (Cindy) of Sabinal and Mark Rodriguez (Courtney) of D'Hanis; grandchildren, Keagan and Kaden Muñiz, Reilly and Callie Mejia, Nasi Bo, Dorian Rey and Draven Gauge Guerra, and Tyler, Madison and Sabrina Rodriguez; sisters, Maria Dolores Meiners (T.C.) of San Antonio and Lupe Contreras (Lupe) of Freer; and brother, Sammy Guerra of Bishop.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 Saturday, June 27, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by Rosary at 12:30 and Mass at 1:00 p.m. Masks are required. Private interment will be at Cortez Family Cemetery.
