Jerry McCarty was born October 25, 1925 in Uvalde, Texas. He passed away May 19, 2003, in San Antonio at the age of 77 years 6 months 23 days. He is survived by his loving wife Bobbie, his loving daughter Cynthia Johnson and husband Craig; grandsons Stephen Eastley Johnson and wife Jane, Craig Eric Johnson; great-grandsons, Cody McCarty Johnson and Evan Eastley Johnson. Mr. McCarty was born in Uvalde, Texas Oct. 25, 1925. He pursued a career with the Southern Pacific Railroad. He began his career as a telegraph operator at the age of seventeen, in Uvalde, Texas. After serving in the Army Air Corp in World War II he resumed his career and moved up through the ranks, retiring as Trainmaster in Dallas, Texas. After retirement he finished his education and obtained a BA degree and became a Real Estate broker in Dallas. He was a Mason for 50 years and was Past Master of the Uvalde Masonic Lodge. Masonic graveside services will be held in Uvalde, Texas May 21st at 11 AM at the Uvalde Cemetery. Mr McCarty request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
