Jesselynn Iris Jessie Ritchie Hunter of Hondo, 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017. Born in Eagle Pass, Mar. 21, 1929, she was the daughter of James Alexander and Johnnie Adellia Harvey Ritchie. Jessie was an accomplished artist, a successful business woman, and she loved hunting and fishing. Above all, she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Glendon Hunter; son, Ellis Ritchie Hunter; and brothers, Ellis, Luther and Lawrence Ritchie. Survivors include her daughter, Iris Lynn (Chester) Schuh of Port OConnor; sons, Montie Franklin (Rebecca) Hunter of Big Foot and Lawrence Luther (Nancy) Hunter of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Mary Hunter of Dallas; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Kathy Ritchie of Bandera. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 4, 2 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
