Jesus Ontiveros, age 89, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011. He was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Yancey, the son of Eusebio Sr. and Concepcion (Arredondo) Ontiveros. He was a heavy equipment operator in road construction. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jose, Manuel, Pablo, Eusebio, Fructoso, Maria and Sarita. He is survived by his sister, Irene Luna of Wilmington, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo. Pallbearers are Andrew Ontiveros II, Christine Contreras, Michael Ontiveros, Gerard L. Ontiveros, Lisa Jo Ontiveros, and Joel L. Ontiveros. Interment will be at Yancey Cemetery.
