Jesus M. "Chuy" Santos, Jr. Age 65 years, 7 months, and 17 days, of Hondo, Texas, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2004. He was born in Hondo, Texas on March 3, 1939, the son of Jesus M. & Ofelia (Gonzales) Santos. Chuy was a farmer and rancher. He was preceded in death by his father; sister Oralia Santos. Chuy is survived by his wife Kathleen (Manley) Gillilan of Hondo; stepson John Gillilan of Hondo; stepdaughter Bettie Austin and husband Karl of San Antonio; grandchild Avery Austin of San Antonio; mother Ofelia (Gonzales) Santos of Hoondo; brothers Enrique Santos and wife Lupe of Yancey, Fredrico Santos and wife Martha of Hondo, Adolfo Santos and wife Irma of Yancey, Arturo Santos and wife Denese of Yancey, David Santos and wife Laurie of Yancey; sisters Amparo Campos and husband Pete of Hondo, Gloria Campos and husband Efrain of Hondo, Beatrice Sanchez and husband James of Hondo, Margie Perez of Hondo, Lupe Villerreal and husband Ernest of San Antonio. The Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Friday, October 22, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 23, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers are Cody Santos, Bert Santos, Richard Santos, Bobby Santos, Ryan Santos, Jonathan Santos. The honorary pallbearers are Henry Santos, Jr., Albert Santos, John Gillilan. The burial will follow in the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
