Jimmie Ruth (Allen) Martin, age 75, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Mar. 20, 2008, in San Antonio. She was born June 14, 1932, at Zig Zag to Elmer W. and Mary Jane (Montgomery) Allen. She was a teacher's aide with Hondo Independent School District for 39 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Allen; and brother-in-law, William Turner. Jimmie Ruth is survived by her husband, Sterling Martin; daughter, Mary Ann Cude and husband Roy of Baytown; son, Allen Ray Martin and wife Patty of San Antonio; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters Johnnie Faye Evans and husband Don of Moore, Bobbie Turner of Devine, and Tommie Sue Gainer and husband Albert of Fanning. Visitation will be Friday, Mar. 21, 6 to 8 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 22, at First United Methodist Church, Hondo, with Rev. Andy Tyson officiating. Interment will be at Yancey Cemetery.
