Santos Enocente "Jimmy" Palacios, age 72, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008. He was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Utopia, the son of Francisco Sanchez Palacios Sr. and Isabel (Gomez) Palacios. He served in Korea in the US Marine Corps, was a semi-truck driver, and was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nicolas, Blas, and Jose L. Palacios; sisters, Luz Fabro and Teresa Corona; sisters-in-law, Janie Palacios and Felipa Palacios; and brothers-in-law, Lupe Alvarez, Santana Fabro, Ernesto Rodriguez and Juan Corona. He is survived by his wife, Lydia (Barrios) Palacios of Hondo; daughter, Janie Bosques and husband Joe; grandchildren, Nicole Palacios, E. J. Bosques and Ricardo Bosques, all of Houston; brothers, Frank Palacios Jr. of Kerrville, Raul Palacios and wife Ester of San Antonio, Juan Palacios and wife Sylvia, Fannie Ybarra and husband Juan, Esperanza Palacios, Isabel Rodriguez, all of Hondo, and Belia Clack and husband Stanley of Dallas; and sister-in-law, Lisa Palacios of Hondo. Rosary was led by Epifania Ybarra on Thursday and Funeral Mass was held at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Ken Dakin officiated the Mass. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. Pallbearers were Rick Barrios, Joe Gonzales, Allan Lopez, Tom Cuellar, Mark Constante, Richard Trinidad, Efrain Barrios Jr. and Efrain "Ray" Barrios. Honorary bearers were Miguel Angel Martinez, Andrew Constante, Jared Constante, Ronnie James Garcia, Ryan Pope, Javier Ortega, Diego Cuellar and Nathan Davila.
