Joe Y. Barrientes of Hondo, Texas, passed away May 5, 2004, at the age of 54. Joe was born on February 8, 1949, to Jesus H. & Ramona (Ybarra) Barrientes in Hondo. Joe was an employee of the Hondo Wal Mart store. He was preceded by his parents; infant twin sister Maria Barrientes, infant brother Rojelio Barrientes, and infant sister Pabla Barrientes. He is survived by his brother Orsenio Barrientes of Hondo, sisters: Eva Guedea of Hondo, Ester Turruviate of San Antonio; brother: Pablo Barrientes of Hondo; sister: Sylvia B. Garza and husband Luis David of Hondo, brother: Jesse Barrientes of Hondo, Ernest Barrientes and wife Yvette of Hondo, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. The Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Friday May 7, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm Saturday May 8, at the St. John the Evangelist Chatholic Church. The pallbearers were: Jacob Guedea, Allen Guedea, Michael Guedea, John A. Turruviate, Adam F. Barrientes, Ernest Barrientes. Interment will follow in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
