Joel Reynaldo Alvarado, Sr. of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022.  He was 66.

Born Nov. 29, 1955, in San Antonio, he was the son of Benjamin Paul and Concha Hernandez Alvarado.

His mother and his brother, Enrique Mungia, preceded him in death.

Joel is survived by his wife, Dominga Cuellar Alvarado; son, Joel R. Alvarado, Jr. (Katie) of San Antonio and grandchildren, Christian, Jacob and Rylee.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Guinn-Horger Chapel, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
