Joel Sanchez Correa, age 56, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010. He was born Jan. 24, 1954, in Hondo and was a truck driver in road construction. He was preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe (Sanchez) Correa; sister, Concha Correa; and brother, Arturo Correa. Survivors are his wife, Oralia Constante Correa; daughters, Angelica Gallardo and husband Ray, Alma Cabrera and husband Tomas, Kimberly Correa and Hazel Correa; six grandchildren, Jacqueline and Kevin Gallardo, and Alexis, Tomas Joel "TJ", Jazmine and Jayzen Cabrera; sisters, Santa Flores and husband Ernesto, Maria Concha Correa and husband Rudy Flores, and Kathy Correa and husband Cayetano Nira, all of Hondo. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 15, 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
