John Erick Billings of Hondo passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. He was 58.

Born Aug. 9, 1961, in San Antonio, he was the son of Sidney A. and Velma Rose Rihn Billings.

John retired in 2019 after 38 years with Ingram Ready Mix. Starting at the company's gravel plant, he worked his way up, as a driver, dispatcher and retiring as sales manager. He was a prankster and loved pulling jokes on family, friends and coworkers. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandkids. He also enjoyed raising cattle and chickens.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Annette Mumme Billings; daughter, Stephanie Lynn Moye, and son, Justin John Billings (Lauren), all of Hondo; grandchildren, Dustin, Caylee and John Moye and Emilia Morales; sisters, Judy Schiwitz (Dennis) and Cissy Arlene Skinner, both of Lockhart; brothers, Jerry Billings (Jeanette) of San Antonio and Scott Billings (Laura) of Hondo; sister-in-law, Nancy Billings of Castroville; stepmother, Barbara Billings of Hondo; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 28, from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel.

Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Hondo Cemetery.
