John Edward Gooding of Hondo passed away on February 2, 2021, at the age of 49. He was born March 2, 1971 in Hondo, Texas to George Irvin Gooding and Diane Browning Gooding.

Survivors include his mother, Diane Gooding Fairchild (Lewis); daughter, Desiree Gooding Harman; grandson, William Harman; sister, Angie Dolgener (James); nephew, Hunter Dolgener; niece, Skyler Dolgener; grandmother, Helen "Elaine" Browning.

John was preceded in death by his father, George Irvin Gooding; grandparents, Glenn B. Gooding, Elleen Mumme Gooding and Robert Edward Browning.

John was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys football fan. In fact, watching football was his passion and nothing could be planned on those days, especially when the Cowboys were playing.

He loved his family and was a proud father, grandfather, and uncle. He wanted to be known as the best uncle ever, and he was! Public Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. John's family will hold a private interment at a later date. Please Note: the number of people allowed in the funeral home is limited. Face coverings are required and social distancing shall be practiced.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's memory to the American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis or the charity of your choice.
