John Henry Phillips, age 76, of San Antonio passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011. Born July 18, 1935, in Weymouth, MA, he was the son of Lawrence Joseph and Doris Ellen (Learned) Phillips. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter L. Street; and sisters, Doris A. Cormack and June Macleod. John served 21 years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Japan, England, Turkey, Taiwan and many bases in the U.S. He retired after 21 years with Security Service and after 20-plus years with Southwest Research. He and Erika Friedrich met in San Antonio and were married 31 years last May. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John Phillips; daughters, Barbara Gregory and husband James, Connie Phillips, Caroline McMillan and husband Joel, and Corina Cashion and husband Dana; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at St. Louis Cemetery, Castroville.
