Jose Sanchez Arredondo, age 85, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Born Dec. 16, 1928, in Hondo, he was the son of Alfredo Arredondo & Severa Sanchez. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and had been stationed in Hawaii. He was a glazer and had retired from Universal Rundle. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adolfina Zavala Arredondo; and brothers, Gilbert, Lupe and Pedro Diaz. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Arredondo of Hondo; sons, Luz Arredondo and wife Elsa of Oklahoma, Lupe Arredondo of Hondo and Albert Arredondo and wife Paula of San Antonio; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 27, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by Interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Pallbearers were Paul M. Arredondo, Joe Alex Arredondo, Jaimon Arredondo, Anthony Arredondo, Albert Arredondo Jr., and Albert Arredondo III.
