Jose Ervey Gonzales, age 73, of D'Hanis passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. Born Aug. 20, 1939, in D'Hanis, he was the son of Juan and Ramona Maria (Peña) Gonzales. He was a retired civil service material expeditor. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Julia (Garcia) Gonzales; brothers, Narciso, David and Jesus Gonzales; and granddaughter, Hallie Rodriguez. Jose is survived by his daughters, Donna Marie Rodriguez and husband Abel Jr. and Belinda Ann Gonzales-Mejia and husband Edward, all of D'Hanis; son, David Ray Gonzales and wife Rosa Linda of Dunlay; five grandchildren; brother, Ramon Gonzales and wife Velia of D'Hanis; and sister, Maria Cortinez of Ennis. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis. Pallbearers are Esteban Jse N. Garcia, Chris E. Rodriguez, Jose Gonzales Jr., Ramon A. Gonzales, Vicente Lopez, Jesse R. Gonzales, Nicholas Rodriguez, and Oscar Flores.
