Jose G. Gonzales of Hondo passed away Sunday, Sept, 25, 2022. He was 84 years old.

Born Aug. 4, 1938, in Hondo, he was the son of Gumesindo Y. and Maria Garza Gonzales.

A man with many skills, he owned a house moving and leveling business.

Jose was a kind and generous man and his grandchildren will always remember him as an awesome grandpa.

Preceding him in death are his parents; son, Jose C. Gonzales Jr.; and siblings, Frank Gonzales, Luis Gonzales, Ramon Gonzales, Jesse Gonzales, Maria Barrientes and Celia Gonzales.

He is survived by his daughters, Maite Cuellar, Imelda Gallardo and Norberta Gonzales, all of Hondo; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Gumesindo Gonzales.

Visitation will be Friday,  Sept. 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 12:00 noon.

The procession to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will leave the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. for the Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section will follow.
