Jose "Mosie" Correa, Jr., of Hondo gained his wings Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at the age of 70.

Born Aug. 21, 1950, in Hondo, he was the son of Jose  Sr. and Consuelo Constante Correa.

Jose retired from Medina County as a machine operator and worked fulltime at Wal-Mart. He loved dancing, cooking and spending time with his family. He always brought a smile to people's faces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose  Sr. and Consuelo Constante Correa, and sister, Juana Navarro.

He is survived by his wife, Nelda M. Canales Correa; daughters, Priscilla (Greg) Guerra and Valerie (Carlos) Quintanilla; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Becky (Juan) Sanchez, Tina (Lupe) Martinez and Estella (Alejos) Quintanilla; and brothers, Candelario (Alicia) Correa and Richard Correa.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10: 30 and Prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb, 9, followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m., both at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Pallbearers are his grandsons, Julius, Gregory andTristan Guerra, C.J. and Christian Quintanilla and Joe Almanza.
