Jose Pargas of D'Hanis, 84, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2020.

The son of Sisto and Telesfora Acuña Pargas, Jose was born Jan. 3, 1936, in D'Hanis. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Adelina Del Toro Pargas;  sister, Olivia Pargas; and brothers, Seniado, Eluterio, Ramon and Ernesto.

Survivors include his daughters, Patricia "Patsy" Ybarra and Joyce Marie (Enrique) Rivera, all of D'Hanis, and Deborah "Debbie" Rodriguez of San Antonio; sons, Fred (Jessica) Pargas and Joseph "Joey" Pargas, all of Hondo; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Santiago "Jimmy" Pargas of Roswell NM; and sister, Maria Tovar of San Antonio.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home on Friday February 7, 2020.. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church on February 8, 2020 in D'Hanis.  Burial will follow in the San Francisco Cemetery.
