Jose Maria Silva, age 70, of D'Hanis passed away Jan. 19, 2003, in San Antonio. He was born in Concepcion on Nov. 7, 1932. Survivors include his wife, Maria F. Silva; daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia Lutz and John, Diana Aquirre, and Sandy Silva, all of D'Hanis; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Silva of Toledo, OH, Christopher and Laurie Silva of Richmond, VA, John and Arlene Silva of San Antonio, and Roberto Silva of D'Hanis; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Nicolas, Luis and Mauricio Silva of Port Clinton, OH, and Reymundo and Emede Silva of Freemont, OH; sister, Hortencia Portales of Port Clinton, OH. He was preceded in death by parents, Guadalupe and Marcella (Ramirez) Silva; sister, Angela Marquez; brother, Manuel Silva. Rosary was at 10 a.m. and Funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, with Father Wallis Stiles officiating. Both services were at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis.
