Josefina Gonzales Flores, age 93, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Mar. 2, 2011. She was born March 27, 1917, in Hondo, the daughter of Fabian V. and Margarita (Cruz) Gonzales. She was a homemaker. Josefina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan S. Flores; brother, Tomas Gonzales; sisters, Luisa Ramirez and Otilla Saucedo; and sons-in-law, Silverio Resendez and Nic Constante. Survivors are her son, Juan Jose Flores and wife Yolanda of Hondo; daughters, Lydia Resendez of Spofford, Gloria Morin and husband Ernesto and Lenora Constante, all of Hondo; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren. Rosary was held Friday, Mar. 4, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service was held Saturday, 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Casket bearers were John Contreras, Matthew Morin, Mark A. Constante, Rogelio Morin, David Morin, Paul Resendez, and Silver Resendez Jr. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
