Joseph Wesley Huesser, age 92, of Hondo, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008. Wesley was born Oct. 3, 1915, in Hondo, the son of Eugene and Ella (Nester) Huesser. He was a rancher and owned and operated Huesser Tires Inc. in Hondo and also did upholstery work for many years. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Beatrice (Wolff) Huesser; and brothers, Howard H. and Lloyd E. Huesser. He is survived by his son, Timothy Van Huesser and wife Jo Ann of Hondo; grandson, Joseph Wesley Huesser II and wife Julie of Austin; brother, J. D. Huesser and wife Annie of D'Hanis; sisters, Mary Kate Curry of Lubbock and Mil-dred Ussery of San Antonio. Rosary was recited Monday, Sept. 1, 7 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with Fr. Ken Dakin officiating. Pallbearers were Carlos F. Gallardo, Bill Moffett, Larry Huesser, John Huesser, James Curry and Michael Ussery. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.
