Joseph Ney "Joey" Koch, 57, of D'Hanis passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2021.

Born Feb. 3, 1964, in Hondo, he was the son of Mathias M. and Beatrice Theresa Ney Koch.

Joey graduated D'Hanis High School in 1982 and Texas A&M in 1987, having earned a double major in accounting and finance. He and Stephanie met in 1989 and were married in 1992. In 2000 they adopted their three children. A life-long member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, he taught religion education for 13 years and also served as a rosary leader and lector. He served eight years on the D'Hanis ISD school board. He worked for Jacks Produce in Pearsall as a sales manager. A big sports fan, he especially enjoyed NCAA football.

He is preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Koch.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Devore Koch; sons, Jon Paul Koch and James Matthew Koch, all of D'Hanis; daughter, Angelina Koch; grandson, Gabriel Atwheel, both of San Antonio; sisters, Doris M. Koch of Round Rock and Suzanne Koch of D'Hanis; and brother, Gary Koch and wife Georgina of San Antonio; and sister-in-law, Teresa Koch of D'Hanis.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and Rosary at 10:00, followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 on Saturday, Feb. 13, all at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church Building Fund.
