Joseph Bryan Pargas

Surrounded by family, Joseph Bryan “Joey” Pargas, 55, of D’Hanis slipped away to peaceful rest on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026.

Born Sept. 29, 1970, in Hondo, he was the son of Jose A. and Adelina Del Toro Pargas, who preceded him in death.

After graduating from D’Hanis High School, Joey served five years as a U.S. Army paratrooper during Operation Desert Storm. He worked with the Medina County Appraisal District and as an Open Land Appraiser for the Texas State Comptroller Office. He loved hunting and fishing and was undoubtedly a #1 fan of the State of Texas.

Joey is survived by his siblings, Patsy Ybarra, Debbie Rodriguez (Isaac), Joyce Marie Rivera (Enrique) and Fred Pargas (Jessica); and was loved by 11 nieces & nephews and numerous great-nieces & -nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept 29, at 9:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D’Hanis prior to recitation of the Rosary at 10:00, Funeral Mass at 10:30, and interment at San Francisco Cemetery.
