Joseph Floyd Reece, Sr. of Hondo passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the age of 75.

Born June 24, 1947, in Uvalde, he was the son of James Franklin and Dolly Groves Reece.

Joseph had retired as a test track driver after 33 years and then drove a bus for Hondo ISD for several years.

"He was a big procrastinator and sometimes aggravating as all get-out, but he was our dad and we love him still," family members agreed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, James F. Reece; daughter, Deserrae Reece; and siblings, Jim, Fay, Toppie and Lottie.

He is survived by his daughters, Candy McCaleb (Steve) of Sterling City and Barbara Aguinaga; son, Joseph Floyd "Jay" Reece, Jr. (Esperanza "Hope"); 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A private service will be planned.
