Joyce Marie Davis Ligon of Hondo passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at the age of 86.

Born in Cuero, Dec. 12, 1935, she was the daughter of Proctor and Georgia Bell Enoch Davis. At the age of 7, Joyce moved to Hondo with her parents and sister Jo Beth.  She attended Marian Anderson School.

Joyce loved the Lord and her family with all of her heart and soul. She was a faithful member of West End Baptist Church.

Her favorite hobbies were watching football, gardening and visiting and teasing with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Anita Denise Black; and grandson, Brian Batteau.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula Batteau of Cypress TX; son, Keith "Kebo" Ligon (Karen) of San Angelo; son, Darren Ligon (Terry) of El Paso; grandchildren, Tanisha Peterson, Troy Ligon, Brandon Ligon (Taishi), Blake Ligon, Danielle Black, Stephanie Israel, Sydney Ligon and Taylor Ligon; 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Jo Beth Taylor of Hondo.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 26, from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Hondo, 2400 Ave. P, followed by interment at Cottonwood Cemetery.
