Joycelyn Abby (Mumme) Newman of Hondo, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the age of 88 years. Joycelyn was born on November 30, 1919, in Vandenberg, Texas, the daughter of Alvin A. & Isabel (Brucks) Mumme. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.L. "Hap" Newman; sister, Grace Caudle. Joycelyn is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Jane Greathouse and husband Jay of Universal City; son, Michael John Newman and wife Denise of Seymour; four grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brother, John Mumme of Bellville; sisters, Elva Krenmueller of Hondo, Asell Clayton of Comfort. The Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6 at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The casket carriers werre: Steve Dobbins, Justin Dobbins, Cole Newman, Michael R. Dobbins, Jay Greathouse, Jon Greathouse. Burial will follow at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
