Juan Hernandez, age 87, of D'Hanis, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at his daughter's home in San Antonio. He was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Mexico, son of Cayetano and Josefa (Sanchez) Her-nandez. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a barber. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Elvira (Gevara) Hernandez; sisters, Esperanza Rodriguez, Rosa Frias, and Juanita Alvarez; and infant children, Juanito, Gloria and Danny. He is survived by daughters, Alicia Rodriguez of Houston and Paula H. Reyes and husband Rudy of San Antonio; son, Danny Hernandez of Houston; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jovita Reyes and husband Alcario of Burlington, WA, and Guadalupe Bena-vides of Round Rock. Visitation was Friday, Dec. 22, 6 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis. Rev. Wallis J. Stiles officiated. The pallbearers were Robert L. Rodriguez, Jr., Rudy Reyes, Mark Valenzuela, Victor Valenzuela, Matthew Boguchi, Anthony Boguchi.
