Juan D. Reyes, born February 8, 1931, in Hondo Texas passed away at the age of 72 on July 22, 2003. He resided in San Antonio and was a member of Saint Vincent De Paul Church and participated as a bass player within the Spanish choir. Mr. Reyes was retired after 43 years of service with Universal Rundle where he was a supervisor within the bowl casting department in Hondo, Texas. Juan's musical career included leading a 9-piece orchestra and participated as a Mariachi singer. His talents were in all fields and assisted others in any way possible. Even in death he chose to be a donor. He was proceeded in death by his daughters Jenny and Janet, his parents Mr. & Mrs. Mauro Reyes, his brothers, Narciso, Jose, Gilbert, and Felix. Mr. Reyes was survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Maria L. Reyes, his son's Roland and wife Mary of San Antonio, Paul and wife Rosemary of Dallas. His five grandchildren: Regina Michele, Elizabeth Rochelle, Joshua Paul, Roman Cyrus, and Gideon Joseph. His brothers Abel and wife Gloria, Frank and wife Ramona. His sister Lupe and husband Edwardo Ytuarte. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, 1016 Lorenzo St. @ U.S. Hwy. 90, Castroville, TX. Rosary will begin Thursday at 7 p.m. Viewing will also be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. for a 9:55 a.m at the church - Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Vincent De Paul Church in San Antonio, 4222 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow the Funeral Mass at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section, in Hondo, TX.
