Judith Lee
"Judih" Arell Paulson
March 9, 1944 – May 11, 2021
Judith Lee Arell Paulson of Hondo, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Born in Bartlesville, OK, Mar. 9, 1944, she was the daughter of Joseph Arell and Elsie Modena Dixon.
Judith, known to her friends as Judih, was a loving wife and mother and her love extended to her animals. An excellent horsewoman, she and her husband enjoyed riding mules and horses in area parades.
She loved to play poker at Texas Hold'em tournaments around town before she got too sick to play. And she was a pretty good player, too!
"She taught us so much," her children said. "We just wished she had taught us how to go on without her. She will be missed by all."
Judih was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Dixon.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Paul Paulson; sons, Martin Royal and Melvin (Marcy) Royal Jr., both of California; daughters, Tammi (Marcos) Arellano of Hondo and Leah Maddox-Lee (Johnny Lee) of Georgia; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Chantland of California.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, at the ranch, 3707 SH 173N, Hondo.
The family suggests that those who wish to, in lieu of flowers, may make a memorial donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at: donate.lls.org. "Cancer meds are so expensive and they help so many," they said.
