Obituary

Julia "Julie" Denise Click Gonitzke, age 55 of Grand Prairie, passed away September 2, 2013, in Dallas, after a courageous baffle with cancer. She was born April 1, 1958, to Canton Vinson and Shirley M. (Zerr) Click in San Antonio. She graduated from John Jay High School and attended San Antonio College. For many years. she worked at the Little Red Barn Steakhouse in San Antonio, and few would ever forget her in that uniform. She enjoyed camping and hiking with her daughter, Jen, in the parks in Washington where she lived for 17 years. She returned to Texas in 2007. She spent many happy times with her family and grandparents at their farm in D'Hanis; those memories were precious to her. She also had a love of reading, and was known to her family and many friends as a very good cook. She had a special companion these last few years, her cat Silver, who she treasured and was a great comfort to her. She had a special gift for being able to talk to people and made friends easily. Many of these friends became lifelong friends. She had very special and close relationships with her mother and her daughter. She loved her sister and all of her brothers, but was especially close to her brother Carlton, and they worked together for several years for the Grand Prairie Independent School District She attended St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. She was preceded in death by her father; husband, David; grandparents, Wilfred and Elsie Zerr of D'Hanis, and Curtis and Julia Click of Ashland, KY. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Hart of WA; mother, Shirley and sister, Sharon Tenay and husband, Steve, all of San Antonio; brothers, Canton Click of Arlington, Keith Click and wife, Kathy of Schertz, and Kenneth Click and wife, Julie of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and -nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 4222 SW Loop 410, San Antonio. Interment at 3:15 at Holy Cross Cemetery in D'Hanis. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice. She was cremated by Local Cremation. Arlington, Texas www.localcremation.com
