Julia Flores Rodriguez, age 87, of D'Hanis passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013. Born Mar. 5, 1926, in D'Hanis, she was the daughter of Alfonso and Alejandra (Constante) Flores. She was a homemaker and a devoted caregiver who showed her family sacrificial love. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jose M. Rodriguez; brothers, Teodor Flores and Tomas Flores; and sisters, Helena Flores and Rita Silva. She is survived by her sons, Joe F. Todd and wife Sharon of Bloomingville OH, Marcelo Flores and wife Elisa of Uvalde, Modesto F. Rodriguez of D'Hanis, Adrian Rodriguez and wife Betty of D'Hanis; daughters, Adelina "Ann" Rodriguez and husband Abel of D'Hanis, Gloria Ortega and husband Carlos of Uvalde and Estella Boone and husband Henry of Hondo; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sisters, Maria Silva and Esther Saavedra, both of D'Hanis. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 9, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.
