Obituary

June E. (Wiemers) Fuos of Hondo passed away April 3, 2008, at the age of 85. She was born at home in Elstone community of Medina County on Oct. 10, 1922, to Theodore G. and Hulda Wiemers. She was a lifelong member of the New Fountain United Methodist Church where she was baptized Dec. 17, 1922, by Rev. F. Foerster. At the age of 11, she was confirmed by Rev. E. W. Dechert. On Nov. 5, 1942, June was married at New Fountain to Jack W. Fuos. They had a wonderful life together for 43 years. June was employed by Southwestern Bell in Hondo as an operator and later transferred to San Antonio until her retirement with 32 years of service. She was a member and past president of the Hondo AARP chapter and a past member of the Hondo Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Franklin Wiemers; sister-in-law, Alice Frances Wiemers; brother-in-law, L.J. Leinweber; and nephew, Don Leinweber. June is survived by her sister, Frances Leinweber; sister and brother-in-law, LaVerne and Jerome Schulte; and sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and William C. Meyers. Also surviving her are nieces and nephews: Diane and Dennis Mann, Kay and Roby Somerford, Debra and Tom Woytas-czyk, Karla Finger, Denise and Mike Carter, James and Diana Wiemers, Jay and Kim Meyers, Michael and Cindy Meyers, and Jeff and Susie Meyers. She also leaves many well-loved great-nieces and -nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Charles Parker at 3 p.m. Monday, Apr. 7, at New Fountain United Methodist Church with burial at the Hondo Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dennis C. Mann, Tom Woytasczyk, James F. Wiemers, Mike Meyers, Jeff Meyers, and Mike Carter. Memorials may be made to the New Fountain United Methodist Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
