Obituary

Karl Henry Faseler of Yancey passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the age of 97.

Born Oct. 26, 1924, in Hondo, he was the son of John G. and Annie Hartman Faseler.

After serving in the U.S. Army in WWII, Karl worked 33 years at Shell Oil and retired as product accountant. Karl and Viola Hornung were married in 1946 and spent much of their married life in Houston.

Upon retiring to the family ranch at Yancey, they became members and staunch supporters of Yancey United Methodist Church for the rest of their lives. Karl was a member of Hondo City Lodge of the Masons, American Legion and the Houston Astros Fan Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola; an infant son; brothers, Elmer Roy and John Franklin; and sister, Ruth Wilson and her husband Lawrence.

He is survived by sons, Kent Faseler of Leon, Mexico, and Kerry G. Faseler of Sperry OK; granddaughter (his pride and joy), Luciana Faseler Olmos and her mother, Ana Lucia Olmos, of Mexico; sister, Dorothy Graff of Hondo; and sisters-in-law, Joanne Faseler of Yancey and Dorothy Faseler of Moore.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 16, at Yancey United Methodist Church followed by interment at Yancey Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Yancey United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
