Kenneth Alan "Kenny/Timmy" Voigt of D'Hanis was called to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2025. He was 78.
Born March 20, 1947, in San Antonio, he was number 9 of 12 children born to Henry Julius and Mabel Helen Fuller Voigt.
Known to some as Kenny and to others as Timmy, he never met a stranger. He made friends everywhere he went.
He grew up on a dairy farm, and loved ranching & rodeoing.
He graduated from John Marshall High School, married Linda Susan Kuentz on June 11, 1966, and worked in the Fire Protection Sprinkler trade, along with farming and ranching and rodeoing. Many of his Sundays were spent helping produce rodeos at the family arena, Voigt Arena. He also was a Bull Rider for several years before becoming a Rodeo Judge at Doc's Arena.
In 1979 He moved the family to D'Hanis where he and Linda raised their 5 children. He was an active Dad, always playing and attending his kids sports events. Later he loved attending his Grandkids sporting events, stock shows & rodeos. He was always their biggest fan. In most recent years he loved to be around his great-grandchildren who all adored him. Playing cards on Wednesday nights with family & lifelong friends. You could always catch him in town, riding in his mule with his dog Rowdy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Joyce West, Janet "Shorty" Tuttle, Jack "Pat" Voigt and Henry "Sonny" Voigt.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Susan Kuentz; his children, Stephanie Barlow (Scott), Stacie Voigt, Kenneth Voigt II (Bunny), Tiffanie Hutto (John) and Tina Upchurch (Kody); grandchildren; Jourdan Chandler (Richard), Meagan Dworaczyk (Layton), Chance Barlow (Abbey), Taylor Mogford (Olivia), Wesley Voigt (Jewel), Karson Voigt, Kade Burrell, Kyle Burrell, Jared Hutto, Mitchell Hutto (Bryanna), Jacob Hutto (Lauren), Gage Upchurch (Katelyn),and Tinsley Upchurch; great-grandchildren; Christopher Mogford, Evelyn Mogford, Owen Chandler, Payton Dworaczyk, Oakley Dworaczyk and Cole Barlow; sisters; Doris Young, Judy Christians (Ronnie), Betty Clark, Sandy Byrum (John); and brothers: Harold Voigt (Shirley), Donnie Voigt (Danna), Butch Voigt; and sister-in-law Tommie Voigt.
Services will be on Monday, April 21, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis, beginning with visitation at 9:00, Rosary at 9:30 and Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
